Are Elijah wood in Everything is Illuminated and the drummer of Franz Ferdinand the same person? A while ago I was trying to show one of my friends who I thought was handsome and I showed him Elijah Wood in Everything is Illuminated and the drummer of Franz Ferdinand. I hadnt realized that they looked so much alike! Im a sucker for those glasses and that hair.

| Im joining the golf club my junior year! My ninth grade science teacher asked me if I wanted to join the girls team forming next year and I said yeah! And Im applying for summer school at SDSU or UCSD. Its really cool because you get to stay in the dorm rooms throughout the week and on the weekends you go home. You eat college food and take college showers with college professors. How cool. I bet the showers are colder and they use soy milk in their cereal....how awesome!
[Lorelai has to model in a charity event for Booster Club that her mother made her get involved in]
Lorelai: Ugh, they totally just snuck that modeling thing in. Rory: Hmm, my mom's a model. Maybe you'll get to date Leonardo DiCaprio now. Lorelai: Plus, now I have to plan the whole stupid thing. Rory: Lorelai Gilmore. Nope, doesn't sound model-y enough. You need something that stands out more. How about Waffle. We could call you Waffle and say you're from Belgium. | | |
| My new favorite television show: Top Chef. I don't know where that puts Gilmore Girls but I suppose its a close second. I saw Everything is Illuminated on Thursday and I loved it! Last Sunday I watched The Squid and the Whale and that too was hilarious. Everything is Illuminated is super funny in the beginning, when Alex introduces himself, and it gets to be more like historical fiction at the middle and end accentuated by humorous one liners. I listened to Sigur Ros' new album a few days ago (like really listened to it) and have come to the conclusion that the only worthwhile song on Takk... is Gong. That song is beautiful. I am very inarticulate tonight, it seems. But believe me when I say these movies and songs were excellent. The new Morrissey album fails to catch my ear, but maybe Im judging prematurely. Today I saw the first chick flick that Id seen in a while: Pride and Prejudice. But Jane Austen makes it so that it isnt so cheesy by making Elizabeth spunky and witty. Oh wait, thats about the epitome of a feminist protagonist. Im still reading One Hundred Years of Solitude and can you believe Oprah put it on her book club?? Ive about the only copy in the public library without the shameful 'Oprah's Book Club' sticker. I stayed up to watch Fox Rox tonight and I was a bit disappointed since the only cool feature was a song and a half performed live by the Hold Steady. Eleanor Put Your Boots On has great lyrics. Franz Ferdinand and I have something in common: the affinity for World War history. As if the choice of band name doesnt say enough, they mention Stalin, Churchill, and Hitler hanging out and slapping each other on the back in a song on the new album. I love history. I also love Biology. Those are my two hardest classes but I heart them so. SNL is going to be on soon, I wonder who's playing this Saturday and who's hosting. I suppose Ill find out in about 5 minutes. I have a DVD with Coldplay on PBS and The Strokes and DCFC on SNL, I love it muchly. I also love apples and oranges and the rain. I love the song You by Radiohead and the song Summer Days at Home by Alsace Lorraine. I believe in Evolution and that keeping my brain busy on other things is the only way Ill ever be Ok. I also believe that people are unreliable and that I revel too much in the faults of others. Between fight or flight, Im flight. I know it isnt dignified, but fighting something you have no control of and feeling shitty all the while isnt any better.
Eleanor put those boots back on Kick the heels into the Brooklyn dirt I know it isn't dignified to run But if you run You can run to the Coney Island rollercoaster Ride to the highest point and leap across the filthy water Leap until the Gulf Stream's brought you down
I could be there when you land I could be there when you land
So Eleanor take a Greenpoint three-point turn Towards the hidden sun You know you are so elegant when you run Oh if you run You can run to that statue with the dictionary Climb to her fingernail and Leap, yeah take an atmospheric leap Let the jet stream set you down
I could be there when you land I could be there when you land I could be there when you land
So Eleanor put those boots back on Put the boots back on and run Come, come on over here
I love you. | | |
